Taxi Transfers To and From Casablanca Airport

After arriving at Casablanca Airport (CMN) a transfer is needed to get to the final destination. Casablanca Airport serves the city of Casablanca, but it is of course possible to fly into the airport and transfer to other locations in Morocco.

Before exiting the baggage claim area and the arrivals area, please remember to collect your luggage.

Transfer options found at CMN Airport include rental cars, taxis, hotel shuttles, private shuttles, trains, and ride shares. There is no public bus transportation option available.

Taxis at Casablanca Airport

There are two taxi companies operating at the airport, Casablanca Airport Taxis and Casablanca Airport Cab Morocco. All the official taxis are white in color. It is recommended to use official taxi cabs only when transferring from the airport or in Morocco in general.

The taxi rank is located on level 0 outside the airport’s Arrivals area and they are available at all hours of all days and nights.

The taxi cabs come in two types, the Grand taxi and the Petit taxi.

The Grand taxi is a larger sedan. These taxis depart from the airport only when the taxi is full, meaning that as a single traveler you can get into one of them and then the taxi will wait for more passengers to fill it up before leaving for the destination of downtown Casablanca or another city. This means that it might take a while before the taxi fills up so it might not be the best option for anyone who has time sensitivity or just simply wants to get to their hotel or accommodation. It might also not be the best option for those with large luggage as there won’t be much room in the vehicle to transport it so they might even be declined when approached.

The Petit taxi is a typical four passenger taxi cab where the traveler or travel company of up to four persons get in and tell the driver where they want to go and the taxi leaves as soon as the passengers and their luggage are safely in the vehicle.

Taxi Fares at Casablanca Airport

The fares from Casablanca Airport are official and have been authorized and agreed upon by the local council. Remember that fares agreed upon may change.

The base fare for the journey to the center of Casablanca is around 300 DH, and the journey time is approximately 45 minutes depending on the traffic at the time and the exact destination of the journey.

The travel time from the airport to Rabat or El Jadida is around one and a half hours and the fare is around 700 DH. Of course travel time will always be affected by the traffic at the time of the journey.

The fare for the journey to Marrakech can be up to around 1.500 DH, depending on the exact destination of the journey, and the time of traveling will also vary depending on the exact destination but it will take somewhere between 2 and 3 hours provided the traffic flows smoothly.

When traveling to Fez one should calculate for a fare around 1.400 DH and a travel time of around 3 hours, but again, the exact destination and traffic will affect what it ends up being.

For the journey to Beni Mellal one will have to pay around 1.000 DH. The journey time is estimated to be around two and a half hours. As per usual the exact fare and travel time will vary depending on the exact destination and traffic at the time of the journey.

Destinations such as Essaouira, Tangier, and Tetouan are located approximately three to four hours away and the fare will end up being around 1.500 – 1.700 DH.

Shared Rides at Casablanca Airport

Shared Rides are often popular and Uber is available at Casablanca Airport. It is however not recommended to use any other taxi options than the official taxis as they are not regulated with the fares and are often seen as less safe for the traveler.
