When traveling to Morocco it is important to know that unmarried couples may not be allowed to share the hotel room as it is prohibited by law for unmarried couples to have sexual contact. Some hotels will only enforce this if at least one of the two is Moroccan, but will overlook it when both are of other nationalities. However, it is best to check with the hotels to find out what their policy is. Also take note that holding hands in public is fine, as are occasional hugs, kissing is usually not accepted. Choosing separate rooms is the safest and recommended way to go for unmarried couples when visiting the country.
